The Wisdom of Loons is a book cover design for Jeff Dennis’s novel, a story centered around nature, mystery, and the relationships that form around a remote lake. The design uses a cinematic nighttime landscape, warm reflections, and a pair of loons to create a sense of quiet mystery and place. Through multiple cover iterations, I explored different visual directions, from soft photographic landscapes to darker, more illustrative approaches, before developing the final cover around the contrast between the glowing moon, reflective water, and surrounding forest.
